They will speed up the tempo, or slow it down, as the atmosphere instructs. And they will ensure you have a fabulous time, you and your guests.

Choosing a DJ for your wedding

You need to get recommendations for a few DJs, preferably from friends who have already used wedding DJs, meet them, face-to-face or an on online platform to start off with, and talk about your wedding. You will know almost immediately if they are the right DJ for your wedding. They will be the one asking questions, finding out about the size of your wedding, the time of your wedding, the kind of wedding you would like to have, the age-group of your wedding, the music you love, the music your partner loves, and the music you think your guests will love. The DJ, and you should have a good conversation, will inspire confidence or should inspire confidence. If they don’t, find another DJ.

Expectations from a DJ

You have one big expectation and that is for your wedding to be a huge success. The other exceptions are that they get the music right, that they know when to do a slow dance, or slow dancing and when to do a bit of disco or rock n roll, that they act as a Master of Ceremonies if you want them to, and that they get the tone right. You are only going to have one wedding, hopefully, and you want to get all aspects of your wedding right. You want the right venue, right caterer, right flowers, right photographer, right decor, right seating and right music. You want it to go perfectly and if you are hiring everyone or everything directly, i.e. not through a wedding planner, you need to be super careful and really on top of everything. And even if you have a wedding planner, you need everything to be wonderful and so you need to double check on each little detail too. Don’t leave anything to chance.
