Things to do in Philly Tonight and Coming Weekend

Philly is what you should plan. Let's know what things to do in Philly tonight and the next weekend.

1: Celebration of Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman's 200th birthday is in 2022, and Philadelphia, the city where the famous abolitionist and Underground Railroad conductor found her freedom, is commemorating her remarkable life. The temporary installation of Harriet Tubman’s vivid nine-foot sculpture mesmerizes everyone of her achievements. The Journey to Freedom and a few more are among the highlights of Tubman's month-long celebration, which concludes this Thursday.

2: Women's History Month Events in Greater Philadelphia

The 19th Amendment: How Women Won the Vote, a 3,000-square-foot exhibit honoring women's voting rights, includes approximately 100 items from the suffrage campaign, including printing of the Declaration of Sentiments from the first women's conference in Seneca Falls (through Thursday).

Plus, for aspiring and experienced female entrepreneurs, the Sisterly organization Collective offers a Women's History Month seminar and celebration (Monday).

3: Easter-themed Events in Greater Philadelphia

Enjoy brunch, meet some animal friends, and take a photo with the Easter Bunny at Elmwood Park Zoo. Each day, there are three brunch sessions, and advance registration is recommended (select dates through April 17).

Next Easter event is that you need to look out for 50+ artist-created eggs concealed in storefronts and businesses across the South Street Headhouse District. For a chance to win some excellent gifts, take a photo of each egg. Are you looking for a hint? South Street's official Instagram account will be used to post clues (duration of the event: April 1-17).

4: Peak Bloom for Cherry Blossoms in Philadelphia

According to experts, the region's stunning cherry blossom trees will reach peak bloom this week. Tourists can discover cherry blossoms in Philadelphia ahead of nature's amazing spring show. Attention: The Shofuso Cherry Blossom Festival will be reimagined from April 8 to 10, 2022.

5: Waitress at Miller Theater

Grammy-winner Sara Bareilles brings you the powerful musical show of an all-female creative team that recounts the story of Jenna, a skilled baker caught in a tiny town and a rough marriage.

6: Philly Theater Week

This annual event, which honors Philadelphia's rich and growing performing arts scene, offers 85 live and virtual performances from theaters throughout the region. All shows are either free, $15, or $30, with the goal of introducing new audiences to the world of theater. The week begins on Wednesday night with a rooftop garden event at the Kimmel Center.

7: Green Screen: Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival at the Philadelphia Film Center

This film festival features 11 new films that highlight Earth's beauty while also drawing attention to the numerous difficulties that its inhabitants face. Individual tickets and weekend passes are available.

8: Da Vinci Art Alliance Presents: The Everyday Futures Fest

With all-ages arts programs throughout April, the Da Vinci Art Alliance tackles the issue of sustainability and its effects on the community. Hands-on workshops, pop-up gardening, park cleanups, and panel discussions are among the events. On Saturday, kick off the festival on the right foot by meeting members of The Philly Goat Project in Palumbo Park for a fun and informative afternoon. On Sunday, April 24, the festival will come to a close with a massive neighborhood block party.
