I've been working on linux-based computers since the early 2000s - setting up workstations as well as web-servers. I've installed and managed installations of various packages and applications on Debian-based and fedora-based linux builds. I'm familiar with all that's required to get a new out-of-the-box running os all the way to production-ready web-serving.

Nginx is the default server for me to use when I set up Python/Django applications. Django comes with an internal webserver made for development purposes, and when it's ready for testing and production, a "real" webserver is needed. That's when I configure Nginx. Nginx is where ssl management takes place, and all calls that do not require code to process, such as calls for static files, nginx manages them directly and does not "bother" the python application for no reason.

I have set up applications on the Windows Azure platform, from very simple accounts, requiring Microsoft licenses for their products and setting up medium-size office, to setting up full-blown applications, using their computing instances, Active Directory, database management, IP management and more.

Docker has been the best thing I've learned in 2018 - changed the way I approach new (and old) projects. Every project now is not just a git repository, but a docker image. This allows for reliability and ease-of-change between projects, knowing that code written will always work, regardless of changes made in the computer/server on which it's running.
Using docker, and docker-compose, we can also upload applications to the cloud or external servers, and know that there's little-to-none configurations needed to be made in order for everything to work.

I have set up applications to run fully on AWS infrastructure - taking advantage of the EC2 computing instances, RDS as database, Route53 for DNS management, various types of S3 file-storage accounts, and more.

I've been on both sides of Webservice development - on the consuming side, interacting with external 3rd-party solution providers, sending and getting data from applications such as POEditor (multi-language application) or Linked-in, Google, and Amazon, etc.
I've also written applications that are the providers of services, opening a gateway for 3rd-party clients to interact with our servers and use the tools and capabilities we developed.

As a web developer, AJAX communication is synonymous with any web interactions. Every web-page that interacts with any source on the web without refreshing the whole page must do so using AJAX. It is now an integral part of front-end Javascript development, and the only place where we notice it as programmers, is when we need to fix CORS settings on the servers we are interacting with using AJAX calls.

Full control over the client-side web programming. Understanding of the tools and limitations we are facing with Internet usage, balancing between the desire to provide full functionality together with "bells-and-whistles" and at the same time handling viewers who's online resources are limited.

I've worked in Java for 3 years as a programmer at Amdocs, taking responsibility on various features and development end-to-end.
I've also developed a server-side application using the Play Framework, wrote front-end code that interacts with a back-end written in Spring-MVC, requiring me to know, understand and make necessary changed to the back-end when needed.
Lately, I've picked up on Java again, writing "pure" Java for a project I'm involved in, interacting with Selenium as well as file management, DB interactions, and more.

I have been programming and managing web applications since 2001 - 8 years in PHP (including management positions), 4 years in Java, several more in Python and Javascript (front-end and back-end), including leading libraries such as AngularJS, Django and more.
I've managed applications all the way from initial inception through server and database architecture, setting up the servers (physical as well as cloud-based), designing and implementing the contracts betweeen client and server, setting up integration with 3rd-party consumers and providers, and lots more.
In short - I'm the person who takes charge over the whole "Web/Internet" side of a product, managing everything that falls under the domain of web architecture and interaction.

5 years of experience in MySQL database. Lately, I have moved from MySQL4 to version 5, allowing for higher level of functionality (stored procedures and triggers). I have worked on developing an online encyclopedia, based to customized definitions provided by NYU academics. The entire design of the database was done by me, using MySQL5.

Python is my favorite code-language. I've been working in Python on-and-off for the last 4 years, first as the back-end for a start-up I was part of, and now as an administration and authentication server for a mini-service based solution, allowing for OAUTH2 authentication via external accounts, and providing JWT tokens to the various clients.
Python is also the go-to language for scientists. I've been working with a micro-biom researh lab in Weizmann institute, developing a gateway between the data they've collected, and a unique graph-library that is tailored for their type of research.

Designed, developed and managed several nodeJS-based applications, taking advantage of the ease and speed of development, together with it's extremely fast processing speed.
Applications where written using the latest versions, moving to async/await and promise-based architecture instead of callbacks, thus making the code much more readable and easy to test and debug.

Designed, developed, and managed several MongoDB projects, the last one being for an autonomous-vehicle simulation company.

Developed a number of projects using the Python/Django framework, including integration with Django-Rest-Framework library, for a reliable and easy-to-use RESTful communication.
Last application included developing an OAuth2 based authentication, including interaction with 3rd party authentication providers. Once logged in, the server sent JWT tokens to the requesting clients, thus providing full security with minimal interaction between client and server.

Managed a single-page application for a start-up company in the agro-tech industry. Application was built on a Backbone infrastructure, using JQuery on the functional side, and Bootstrap to manage the presentation. The site was multi-lingual, serving 5 different languages, including left-to-right and right-to-left management.

Set up and managed a number of servers based on ExpressJS, including integration with Swagger (OpenAPI) to provide an easy-to-use and manage RESTful API contract.
Responsibility included also handling large files and complicated requests and business-logic.

I have been working with integrated services since 2010 - then the protocol used to be SOAP, and the coordinating contracts were WSDLs. Since then we've moved to REST API, using much more fluid contracts, interacting via JSON objects.
In the last couple of years I've been designing and managing full RESTful architecture, coordinating between various types of servers and consumers, using Swagger/OpenAPI as the contract and structure for communication.

It's been a few years since my last PHP project, but I know that when I do get my next challenge in that language - Laravel is probably the only framework that I will be looking into and choosing. Based on the Symphony foundation, it takes the looseness of PHP and puts it on solid tracks, providing a robust and easy to use ORM, making the project a lot more manageable and sustainable as a long-term solution.

Experience in Web Application development since 2001. Front-end development including setting up infrastructure and architecture for development of web applications based on HTML5, advanced JS libraries such as AngularJS, and some older JQuery-based frameworks, such as Backbone and KnockOut.

Vast experience in setting up web-applications, starting from the server configuration, through database and back-end code architecture, through cloud and 3rd-party integration, and managing a responsible, reliable, and intuitive API platform that communicates efficiently with the Front-End or any other client-side consumer who is interacting with the system developed.
