My role was split between creating new features and enhancements for an in house application, and performing maintenance duties for this application such as QA testing new features, bug fixes and addressing any user questions, concerns or data requests. This application is built using Visual Studio and C#.
Generating reports was an almost daily task. This involved writing SQL queries which varied in complexity.
I wrote a program which automated the sending of emails for 90,000 records which slashed 5 minutes of processing time for each of the 90,000 records

My main role was creating automation software for the tax department
My other responsibilities included the management of databases, debugging and correcting existing software, and assisting in the deployment of laptops.
Some of the projects I worked on were as follows:
SLA Calculator
My first task was writing a VBA program which took the last date each employee did work for a client, and used this to calculate the Service Level Agreement each employee had to meet. My code generated an excel worksheet containing the employee’s Assignee ID, last name, first name, the last date each employee logged data into the system and finally the SLA date. There were two buttons on the spreadsheet, a button which allowed the user to run the macro simply and another which enabled the user to clear all the cells in the spreadsheet quickly. When the button was clicked, the imported document would be opened in another tab which made copying between the documents easy.
Report Builder
The second project I worked on was a Report Builder application. The purpose of this application was to allow the user to generate different styles of reports depending on their inputs. The first stage was the import stage. The application had to read data from Excel .csv files and write this data to a database. Microsoft Access was used for the databases involved. SQL commands were used to retrieve data from the Access databases.
