Having reviewed hundreds of business plans over the course of my career, I frequently conducted my own primary and secondary analysis of the market, competition, business model, customer base, etc. as part of the due diligence process prior to making an investment.

I wore the public relations and investor relations hat for a venture-backed biopharma company, both while the company was private and then as a public company. I wrote press releases, responded to inbound inquiries, developed and executed on a PR and IR plan, collaborated with external agencies, and developed and maintained all outward facing materials (general, investor, scientific, etc.).

Extensive experience working with startups and venture capital-backed companies to develop business plan, investor presentation, market strategy, business model, financial plan, and due diligence materials.

Career history includes working for two venture firms, and supporting numerous companies in fundraising. Raised a $102M venture fund while working for a life science venture firm, and participated in due diligence and follow-on financings for multiple portfolio companies. Also worked for the strategic investment arm of BCBSNC where I closed transactions from a $5M Series A round to a $180M recap.

On the operating side, I was a key part of the team and involved in all aspects of the fundraising process that led to a $118M IPO and $41M secondary offering for a biopharma company.

Advised multiple healthcare IT and services companies on their business models, go-to-market strategies, new channel opportunities, and creative partnering and distribution models.

Authored or supported creation of business plans for healthcare companies of multiple stages and sectors from life science to healthcare services to digital health. In addition, based on my role as an investor at two venture firms, I have reviewed hundreds of business plans throughout my career and am well versed in what makes business plans successful in fundraising and strategy execution.

Have edited and proofread materials for all types of audiences, including corporate boards, the SEC, investors, etc. Wore the PR and IR hat at a biopharma company where I was responsible for all outward facing materials, including website, press releases, investor slide decks, new clinical data (abstracts, posters, papers), and prospectus for IPO.

Experience drafting, editing and publishing a variety of marketing materials, including slide decks, offering memorandums, website collateral, event publications, product descriptions, white papers, etc.

Designed a variety of materials for professional and personal use.

Spent career supporting companies in developing presentation materials that successfully tell their "story" to a variety of audiences, including investors, analysts, investment bankers, potential partners / collaborators / customers, and internal teams of all levels.
